1. 我们必须进一步采取措施，以适应当前形势。We must take further steps to meet the present situation.
2. 找一天，我们不妨进一步研究这件事情。We might as well go deeply into the matter someday.
3. 经过进一步了解，他俩同意解除婚约。Reaching a better understanding, both of them agreed to break off their engagement.
4. 经过进一步的考虑，我明白这样做可能招致又一次的失败。On second thought, I see by doing this we might be in for another failure.
5. 他进一步考虑了自己的经济状况之后，决定不上大学。He decided not to go to the university after giving thought to his financial condition.
