LESSON 1 Gifts of the Magi 麦琪的礼物

主要人物：Della (戴拉，女）Jim（吉姆，男，２２岁）
主要内容：１．Della counted money three times.戴拉数了三遍钱．
2.One dollar and eighty-seven cents 戴拉一共攒下了一美元八十七美分．
3.Jim原来每周开３０美元，现在每周的工资是２０美元．
４杨先生和杨太太有两样值得骄傲的东西，一个是吉姆的金表，另一个是戴拉的头发 There were two possesssions of Mr.and Mrs.young. One was Jim's gold watch. The other pround possession was Della's hair.

作者：Geoffrey chaucer 乔叟，原计划写１２８个故事，但仅完成２４个．乔叟被誉为＂英国诗歌之父＂被高尔基誉为＂英国现实主义的奠基人＂
主要人物：Ｗife of bath 巴斯夫人（讲故事的人） She had had five husbands 她曾经有五个丈夫（但都死了）， knight骑士
主要内容:1.Baths tale was about the time of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table.
2.王后出的题目是"What does a woman want most of all?",她给骑士的期限是 a year and a day to find out the answer.
3.骑士在树林里看到了 twenty-four beautiful ladies
4.The thing which every woman wants most of all is to be head of her house. She wants to make her husband do as she wishes.
5.The ugly woman asked knight to make her as his wife.丑女人要求骑士做的第一件事就是让他娶她．
6.His wife was really a fariy.

主要内容：１．Mme.Loisel 要了 four thousand francs（４０００法郎）做衣服．
２．他们用了十年时间还清一切借款的本金以及可怕的高额利息．
３．他们花３６０００法郎买了一条真项链还给了弗莱斯特夫人，而那条丢的项链是人造宝石的，最多只值５００法郎．
